close open...

Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
And I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know...

what's have you 2012?...

It's been a year and you still infatuate me...

Such a feel good song.
Wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a movie soundtrack... or something.

Gaaaahd she's A-mazing!

beating LLSsS....

Would it still be called LSS if the songs is still stuck in your head for almost a week?!

Surely it would defy the technicalities considering that LSS which stands for Last Song Syndrome actually only refers to one specific song. The numeric aspect is already faulty, plus the fact that these songs in my head are not literally the last songs I've heard. Because the last one I heard is this raunchy unknown disco song that is being played by our uncool neighbor. Thank goodness it's not as catchy as other bad songs, coz the playlist in my head would surely flip at the additional poor mixture, like they're some hoity toity alta de sociedad.

Going back, since this thing I have in my head is pretty much unnamed (I think), I shall therefore call it LLSsS "Last Last Song's' Syndrome." I'm so original! hahaha. Corny I know! but what the heck, humor is still humor regardless of depths, even though mine is just floating in the shallow ends.

I don't like sharing songs that much for selfish personal reasons, but I just thought that maybe if I do this, the humming in my head would end. The humming is not annoying, I just don't have right lyrics to go with the hum, and my sister thinks that wrong-slash-made-up lyrics is waaay more annoying, which I, unfortunately, have the reputation for. So really, I just don't wanna be in the same annoying category as our neighbor.

Friendly Fires - Edge of Glory

#1 in my head!!!!!! But you can't help it, their version is just waaaay better than Lady Gaga's. This is also the reason why I love BBC's Live Lounge soooo much! It's so cool how different artists puts personal spin on the songs of their contemporaries.

Jaime T - If you got the money

It's all that FatKidInside's fault! I hate Erwan! eeee!!!! Can't help but still giggle like a school girl at the thought of him. It's already bad enough to get stuck at the only line I know.. "if you got no money I think it would be funny...," then be stuck with the idea of him. I hate it! ** deep inside my dark skin I am blushing**

I Blame Coco - Bohemian Love

For this I blame Nina Japeth Caballero! Thanks Bal... ;)

There are still other two that I have already posted. Worlds Apart by The Mostar Diving Club which I already posted below this entry, and the other one is Crying by TV on the Radio a blog track on below the below of this entry...

For now I shall wait on the result of my theory on sharing is curing.

my kind of cheese....

This secret I'm about to share will cost me my most valuable pride, here it goes.... I'm a closet hopeless romantic. There I said it, no need for you to make this a topic of conversation especially when my all the romance in my head includes some hot dude and a song number.  Could I get anymore cheesy than this?! BUT! in all fairness to me, my kind of cheese is not the typical tagalog movie scene wherein the hero just pops out of nowhere with his alalays and serenades the girl by the window in the middle of the night then out of nowhere a dog comes out barking to bite them, if not the girl's father. OR all the characters just simply lip syncs to a song and dance number at some park. That's not romantic, just plain comedy.

Bottom line is Tagalog romantic movie scenes, are just plain trying hard, that it's become really corny. Look at Ashton Kutcher, clearly he's trying hard but why is it soooo damn cute?!!!!

A lot like love

Or Heath Ledger sliding from a pole with a school band for a back up, why can't you just take your eyes off him???

10 Things I hate about you

OR when it's Rupert Everett even in his gayness (Lord why does he have to be gay?!) exclaiming your fake romance in that accent and lovely falsetto voice, you simply wouldn't mind making it real with this gay..

My Bestfriend's Wedding

BUT honey, when it's THE Nicolas Cage doing this to you....

The Family Man

wouldn't you be confused whether to cry or smile and keep it all coming at the same time?!

Oh movies! you make me wish for a man to burst in a song number. To whoever that man will be, I hope to God he can pull it off, coz if not, I'd rather stick with the tagalog movies instead... hahahaha.

boy johnoy...

SUPER DUPER LATE...

please take note that I'd already drafted this waaaay before, and I'm too lazy to make some changes. anyway let's just pretend it was last week ;)

****

Because last Saturday I was sooo Coachella frustrated that I craved for an audio date.
Then a message from Kymoi was all I needed.

Say hello to my boy Johnoy Danao.

Relatively unknown, in my world, but unbelievably talented.
Like I said, if only his voice could impregnate then I'd probably be having dozens of kids by now. He's that good. His style is kinda Jack Johnson-ish X Jeff Buckley-ish X and etc. etc.-ish. But, I have to say he's closest to Dave Matthews, and his originals are darn feel good.

Just you play, watch and listen...

Told ya!

and  clearly Kymoi we are such a fangirl... haha

Thanks for playing 2 of my long list of request boy Johnoy. You surely got my friend Chasing Pavements while I on the other hand, was drowning in the ecstasy of your Champagne Supernova.

To Ramos, gracie!

And to Coachella.... just you wait and see!

audio break...

As of this day let me formally declare Cathay Pacific as my most favorite airline
(like I have a long list of comparison?!).

Food was good.
Flight was smooth.
but their Music...
aaaahhhh their music...
was abso-freakin'-lutely hands down the coolest compilation ever!!!

With the great play list, flying was just a breeze. But when you are busily jotting down the never heard of great artists and songs just makes you wanna wish the flight was longer.

Some of the albums from their indie collection.
I was happy flier when acqauinted with these unknown artists so let me pass on my happiness by sharing them...

such a happy-feel-good-walking-on-sunshine kinda artist. nothing but love for Ms. Doolittle

definitely the kind of pop artist you wouldn't mind getting caught on listening to. all i can say is I got a lot a lovin' for this missy lissie.

makes you wanna dance, dress up like a boho and create a music video of yourself. who doesn't love getting crazy by yourself???

one of the best companions for a long drive to nowhere. let's get lost. NOW.

a great beach date after the long drive. start rollin' in the sand baby.

the sweetest sing-along-high. memorize lyrics, pronto!

There's actually still more, but these are the artists that ultimately struck the chord in me.

Hope you like it, coz from the geeky looks of it I sure did.
Chill the ears...
Make love to the music...

little passionates...

For someone who makes You Tube her glorified TV, I stumbled upon this amazing choral group by typing in Anne Hathaway Oscars.  So instead of catching up on the celebrated Oscars, I ended up spending the entire day gawking at the incredibly inspiring young talents of PS22 or Public School 22 from Staten, New York. Just gotta love that "suggestions" slide on the right corner.

Look at those faces, have you ever seen pure unadulterated passion like that? They are just sooo adorable to look at that it's A-mazing. Considering their economic backgrounds and varying races, it makes me feel like I'm watching a true to life version of the movie Sister Act, minus Whoopie Goldberg and older students. Anyway like I always say, there is nothing greater accomplishment in life than finding one's passion, and doing it, and they are just exactly what I'm talking about. These kids have no idea how fortunate they are to encounter a teacher like Mr. B (Greg Breinberg) in their life. Dude! that man is the definition of not cool but coolest!

Mr. B, or shall I be bold and say Greg, is exactly the kind of teacher I wanna be like, if ever I finally decide to become one. haha. Seriously though, I think it's very important for teachers to recognize the individuality of every student and encourage them to embrace that individuality by not imposing too much restrictions. That's why if noticed there isn't much to nil choreography involved.

I love that Greg lets the kids do their own thing. I love that Greg's enthusiasm is contagious. I love that Greg chooses the coolest songs. From the inspiring Stevie Nicks, to the fast beats of Jay Z and Passion Pit, to the laid back alternatives of Phoenix and Coldplay, to the pop hits of Katy Perry and Rhianna and to the etc. etc. They've covered it all. For all that and Greg's long hair, I think I've fallen for Greg. So Greg Greg Greg whatchatink? marry me? wink! ;)

With everything that is happening in this world lately, it's great to see inspiring people sprouting out every now and then. Loads of goodness, a splash of artistry and an overflowing passion is what we need more in this world. Or maybe just a 'greg'arious teacher to influence the many.

The standing ovation from Lady Gaga and Beyonce, the happy tears from Tori Amos,

the publicity from Perez Hilton, the adoration of the internet world and now this blog, you kids and teacher deserves it all and more.

To PS22, you made me not regret missing what he or she wore to the Oscars, and to Anne Hathaway, I'll make a raincheck on our Youtube date! ;)

****

By the way there's a 2nd part when Tori Amos gave an impromptu performance with the kids, it's amazing. It's gonna make you love her even more. There also more great covers and amazing moments from PS22, just check out youtube for that or their site at http://ps22chorus.blogspot.com.

katy craze...

Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream
But no one seems to hear a thing ....

~*~
Coz I'm feeling so POPish right now. Kill ME. But blame my death on Katy Perry.
Love her and her sense of humor.
I can actually picture her as part of my circle of friends. Too dreamy? Slap ME.

~*~
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through...

musique...mĆŗsica ...music...

i don't know if you feel same way as i do, but there are just certain songs that makes you feel like you're in a whole different world, when the truth is you're just at home sitting in front of the computer. it must be melody, or  musical arrangement or the language. but whatever it is, it just feels gooooooood......

la vie en rose by pomplamoose

sometimes those songs can get teeny-winnie-tiny-bit-romantic till' you learn what it really means....

Elis Regina & Tom Jobim- Waters of March

and i have nooooooo idea what it means STILL. but what the heck i looooove it...

ignorance is probably a bliss...
but music is definitely a universal language....

FIFAfied....

I may probably never understand football...
and I may probably never even try to exert an effort to understand it....
BUT THIS...
I understand.

WAKA WAKA

You're a good soldier
Choosing your battles
Pick yourself up
And dust yourself off
Get back in the saddle

You're on the front line
Everyone's watching
You know it's serious
We are getting closer
This isn't over

The pressure is on
You feel it
But you got it all
Believe it

When you fall get up, oh oh
If you fall get up, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
Cuz this is Africa
Tsamina mina, eh eh
Waka waka, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa

Listen to your God
This is our motto
Your time to shine
Don't wait in line
Y vamos por todo

People are raising
Their expectations
Go on and feed them
This is your moment
No hesitations

Today's your day
I feel it
You paved the way
Beleive it

If you get down get up, oh oh
When you get down get up, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa
Tsamina mina, eh eh
Waka waka, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
Anawa a a
Tsamina mina, eh eh
Waka waka, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa

If there is one great view in this world, it is literally seeing people from different walks of life united for a common passion.

Imagine the gaps connected...
the prejudices set aside...
the colors forgotten...
and the moment lived....
Imagine the difference...even for just a moment...

I'm not a fan of football, but am a fan of its cause. I'm not fond of crowds but I dig this kind of gathering. I hate mainstream but I loooove Shakira and everything she represents. And by writing this song she not only made me love her even more but most importantly she got me FIFAfied.

Once...

It was a year or so ago since I got acquainted with this movie but it was only yesterday that I came around to watching it. To begin with it was the soundtrack that got me hooked, but now that I've seen it, it's the movie itself that got me passing it forward to 1 or 2 or 3 of my reader/s slash loyal buddies. haha.

Why i like this movie is because of it's very simple plot and the fact that it's not your average girl-meets-boy-and-off-to-wonderlust-kinda-thing. It's very platonic yet very compelling. And if I were to meaningfully dissect it further, I'd say that it's simply about how ONCE in our life's journey we encounter stranger/s who, unknowingly, can lead us back to the track of our destiny. SWELL!!! as in like The Swell Season, the band that stars in this movie... again... SWELL! (wink*)

for ONCE enjoy....

hushhhh....

I've never been fond of anything mainstream. I detest it. I abhor it. Especially when it comes to music.

I don't listen to the radio so I don't know what's "IN." I work hard at discovering unknown artists and cool songs (trust me, clicking my way through youtube and different sites can be very stressing to my index finger). That's why I take very serious precaution by not sharing my likes too much. But today, I feel generous, so I'll share the current faves on my playlist. You may have heard some of it, others you may not. Nonetheless, in exchange for my generosity, I beg of you to keep it all HUSH HUSH and keep it between the two parties...You and Me.

Snow Patrol. HEARTBREAKING. almost all their tracks can easily be the soundtrack of your life. or slash life... make it love life!
Fiona Apple. CAPTIVATING. pure artistry beyond words!
The Weepies. FEEL GOOD. the kind of songs you wanna wake up to or take a long drive with. :)
Angus and Julia Stone. LAID BACK. i don't know if there's anyone who'd agree with me on this particular feeling or thought. but their kind of songs are super laid back that it reminds you of the sepia color. i know. how can a track possibly remind of you a color!. silly but true. listening to their songs just brings back sepia moments. moments that were unhurried and precious.
Slackstring. BEACHY. imagine laying on the sand, sipping piƱa cola, looking up to the blinding sun, and listening to your mp3 with their songs on. scene - PERFECT.
Tycho. ORGASMIC. actually it's chill, but i love that word orgasmic, so orgasmic it is. hehe. the kind of tracks that gives you a certain kind of high just like moby's. it makes you wanna lay under the blanket of stars do nothing but just stare at them till they become stars no more. that kind of high!.

***

So there. Before I end this blog, let me remind you once again. Between you and me... HUSSSSSSSSSH.
